Years before sitting at desks with PCs connected to everywhere 
the windowed lab was antechamber to the cold computer room.
Test equipment was assigned in the lab for our engineering tasks.
One morning Cliff was using my datascope
I was told he’s our top troubleshooter 
to the root of the problem faster than anyone.
Time passed so that Cliff and I were the only two in the group
he would troubleshoot the problem and I would provide the fix
test and package it with documents.
A quarter century later we both work at Sonus and at a team dinner
he said this would be his last job
he asked
