My leaf project is on-going now
scanning trees sidewalks and lawn
walking in the tech park after lunch
among the cherry and maple trees 
stopping to pluck a green-and-red.
Sometimes after lunch a colleague offers me a leaf.
I reply with a courtesy:
Thank you it’s very nice
I leave unsaid:
It’s yours not mine.
