Dawn I drove up the auto-road 
Ruth and Lew too small to walk.

David Deb Melissa Amanda Cassie Dawn Ruth Lewis and I
climbed clockwise up the rocky path 
an hour on a chilly Columbus Day
from the top colored leaves hung in view.

Descending with Dawn through a shady grove 
and exuberant in nature
to stop and kiss her.

Ruth and I drove to the top 
early morning with the Astroscan
the wavy solar eclipse
sun spots on the white projection screen.

I climbed alone last year 
a dizzy walk down.
