From Chicago I brought a Matisse 
rolled up in a tube on the train.
When I next saw Michael
I said, “I bought a Matisse print”.
I could see that I’d surprised him
his look was intense
is it possible? 
really a Matisse?
I believed it was so and said yes it’s really a print.
I had paid 25 dollars and when Michael saw the poster
he was very kind not to see and not to say.
Many years later 
better read and more museums
I perceive the naive and humbled self 
the same today.
