Our first family hike
if autobiography isn’t true it’s only self-deceived
Dawn in the GTI with Lew and Ruth
hours long from Boston to Mt. Williard Trail
an easy wide path
Ruth rambling already at two
Lewis advanced
the trailhead a mile plus to the ledges
Presidential views and then
returning to the car in a run
Dawn worried they’d run too far ahead
we arrived together at the red VW
and as usual after a hike
enjoyed the ride home.
