My spiritual life wants to say something
it’s this my spiritual life wants to say
I know so please don’t act like you’re informing
I already know and have known for a while
age 18 is for saying stuff
succeeding years will belie.
I know so there’s no need reminding 
autobiography is witness though
disheveled and random 
deficient in glory
a life has meaning 
not like leaning my head down to my knees 
praying oh Jesus I love you so much
more like seeing my child’s first wrinkles around his eyes
noticing again my wife’s kind smile
or a bumble bee in October cold
working more slowly than July.
