Lewis and I were served when he was three
Saturday mornings at Seven Stars
eggs juice toast and jam
pancakes too on diner plates
those few dollars didn’t consume paychecks
we exercised arithmetic
the chatting was eager to learn and share
the walk there and home was leisurely
among many blessings
the restaurant was named auspiciously.
