her sons Ronnie and Vance and husband Bob
Reformed Dutch Protestants ministering to a small church.
Soft-spoken and kind
light brown hair with a half-dome line
himself a minister though not yet managing a church
Vance and mom talked together
an attraction informed their conversation
first cousins 
kissing would have been taboo.

and I mean that unapologetically
unlike you, Chuck, Roy, and Scott
Vance Vandermay would have enriched my mother’s life.
