Mark began at BBN the day I did 
soon after Mark and I began 
Mark’s wife Jean joined in. 
The PAD sustaining engineers in Joe’s group were
Mustafa Norm Martin Jean and I
Jean and Mark bought in Lexington
they commuted together and arrived at 8:30
neither worked past 5:30 
both liked running daily and every day Mark ran around noon
Jean is very nice and never complained nor had weekend stories to tell
Mark is a nice guy too
nor did he have personal stories to share
I knew him at BBN 88 to 93 and again at Sonus 04 through 15
Jean advanced regularly and became a VP
Mark also advanced and was a Fellow before laid off. 
Once I said, “Mark I’ve been trying to jog but I keep getting injuries”
he said, “Then you probably shouldn’t run.” 
I once told Mark about planning for the Hawaii solar eclipse
as many as 15 years later he said,
I still can’t believe you’d go to all that trouble for a solar eclipse.
