the Lord replied
Bind a bronze serpent onto a pole
whomever suffers from my Holy bite
can look at the universal symbol of medicine
the physician’s talisman
and live
Asclepius
a Greek god of medicine
arrived in dreams as a snake
the afflicted received his advice and remedies
at the very least
relief from pain
some dare to say
raised from dead.
