Merl and I prayed about it and decided to buy a house in Port Arthur
we bought one on the canal close to its mouth
and then we decided prayerfully to buy a boat
other couples visited from church in upstate New York
and we took them in the boat to explore around the gulf 
also Merl liked the blackbirds there because her name means that in French
when summer came everyone dried up in the heat
even the lanai was boiling after 10 so we’d go back inside
the same thing happened the next summer so we decided to move back
here’s a funny thing about some of those changes
before Port Arthur we’d get to church early in the car
now we don’t leave the house until about a half hour.
