My spiritual life includes a one-way fight
sucker-punched 
Bobby Diegel didn’t fight back
his lone retaliation was crying home
faster from school than we usually walked. 
I knew two things then 
I wanted to hit my friend
there had been no provocation
I wanted to hit my friend 
hit him I did
cruelty then lifelong guilt slid in.
