That I was born mom was canned.
Piqua invoked a school-board law
no teacher could be divorced and
terminated her contract for grade school kids.
Mom commented on her self not once and never said
she was 23 with two kids no alimony no husband no job
except to say
her sister was teaching in a Christian school
we moved to Norfolk and she taught there.
Mom so peacefully quiet fifty years later
never put a Dylan Thomas fist at fading light.
