Twice Told Tales

On the first night to Sturgis
the drunk foot slammed the metal leg of the bed
the toe broken and swollen
bore in mind three days of the ride
in Spearfish box-toe Keens were a relief.

On the first night to Newfoundland
the 800-pound bike fell on the other foot
it broke the opposite toe
as the drunk devil had broken
on the Sturgis ride.
