Wisdom poems tell all about the old condition
they’re as obsolete as the previous wave
no one reads them anymore
no one thinks about haystacks and gout
country squires without plug-in cars
or tribulations of the queen
don’t write them
they literally darken the page
oh I meant to say computer screen.
