for much of that he led facilities
hvac carpets roof repair and deliveries
also flags locked doors and security
he always had a friendly greeting

and he’d reply
How are ya?
Then the merger and a new boss
they needed John’s to keep their jobs
so they humiliated him
for example they asked
where’d you go to college
knowing he didn’t
John got a better job
tomorrow he’ll be gone
at 2 we’ll cut a sheet cake in his honor.
