The ThankYouProject Water Walk raises capital to provide
clean-water wells for Nigerian villages
women and children carry it there 15 miles every day
else households must use nearby ground water.
Saturday the charity walked downtown from Greeley Park
we carried empty five gallon pails to the Nashua River
and returned a mile with an inch or two of water.
The first bucket was impossibly heavy
an overzealous dip in the river had filled it half full
the next in line protested
"Don't give me that much water."
