My spiritual life has a precept for poems with dirty looks
if one of them starts toward you with a pen
stand up and walk away.
Don't allow a long forgotten poem to get around
and then surprise!
your sarcastic scorn reveals a fun-sized mind.
Those poems are bad from the beginning
their kind only worsens with age.
