People are unpracticed with social relations at St. Philip’s Food Fest in May
the first regional event of the calendar year.
Volunteers facilitate for others slowed by the atypical circumstances:
-women cheerfully hand out cafeteria trays from stacks of trays
-customers shuffle forward rereading the menu’s 5 items
-the cash register teller voids an à la cart tally and
-attendants point at empty chairs to reduce table seating errors.
Self-confidence fortified with spanakopita and lamb skewers
no one needs help with honey-soaked baklava or
phyllo triangles filled with cream.
