The neighbor’s white pickup truck disappeared
not full-sized and not much used its seven years
it could be anywhere
it could be in for repair
waiting in Florida as a spare
maybe someone stole it and is listening to NPR
or it’s been sold in a legitimate deal
regardless of whether it ever returns
I’m hoping its future is brighter there than here
outdoors of the garaged cars
humiliated by the snow-blower’s stiff regard
shunted into the street
returned to its driveway niche
the truck stays the car goes off to work.
