Ash Wednesday began deprived of ice cream and wine
meanwhile she collected Easter basket sweets
she bought Lindor chocolates a lot of them
she observed Good Friday downtown at the Episcopal
Easter Sunday she wore an apron outlined with bunnies and
baked a ricotta pie and a bread with three hard-boiled eggs
she cooked yams for me and a ham for dinner
there were fruits from around the world for dessert
champagne mangoes
Sumo mandarins
pineapple
kiwi and papaya
dried longan and an Asian pear
my wife embodies the holidays.
